Their debut album, The Drug in Me Is You, became a major success and helped launch their mix of post-hardcore, pop-punk, rap, and metal influences. The band is also known for dramatic music videos and viral singles like Popular Monster, which blended heavy guitars with hip-hop elements and topped rock charts. Another fun fact is that the lineup has changed multiple times over the years, but Ronnie Radke has remained the constant creative force behind the band’s sound and image.
Formation
After leaving Escape the Fate following legal troubles and imprisonment, Ronnie Radke formed a
new project while incarcerated. Originally called From Behind These Walls, the band was later
renamed Falling in Reverse. Early members included Nason Schoeffler, Jacky Vincent, Derek Jones,
and Ryan Seaman.
The Drug Is Me Era
The band signed with Epitaph Records and released their debut album The Drug in Me Is You in
2011. It debuted strongly on the charts and featured singles like Raised by Wolves and I'm Not a
Vampire. The group also launched successful tours despite lineup changes.
Singles/Popular Monster Rise
Instead of albums, the band focused on standalone singles such as Losing My Mind, Drugs, and
especially Popular Monster, which became one of their biggest hits. In 2020, longtime guitarist
Derek Jones passed away.
Neon Zombie / Modern Era
The band continued chart success with Zombified, Watch the World Burn, and collaborations with
artists like Tech N9ne and Jelly Roll. In 2024 they released the album Popular Monster, proving
their continued commercial success and cultural relevance.
